This calculator uses the Golden Ratio principle for optimal coffee extraction:

Standard Ratios:

  • • Strong: 1:14 (1 part coffee to 14 parts water)

Brewing Method Adjustments:

  • Drip Coffee: Standard ratio, medium grind
  • French Press: Coarser grind, longer extraction
  • Pour Over: Fine grind, precise timing
  • AeroPress: Fine grind, short extraction
  • Cold Brew: Coarse grind, 12-24 hour extraction
  • Espresso: Very fine grind, high pressure
